AIM is a leader and one of the largest metal recycling companies in North America, with over 2500 employees and 70 locations throughout North America and spanning five continents. Privately held, the company has grown into a multi-faced recycling, transportation, manufacturing and environmental services company. With the company’s relentless growth, the company’s legal department is seeking an experienced counsel to help the company’s Chief Legal Officer fulfill her duties, consisting in handling all the legal matters for the company, in addition to risk management and environmental affairs. 

Responsabilities
• Advise internal clients on all legal matters facing the company; 
• Draft, review and revise contracts of all types; 
• Support the internal clients in commercial negotiations of all types;
• Conduct work related to mergers and acquisitions/joint ventures and divestitures, real 
estate matters and corporate reorganizations; 
• Assist the CLO in supervising litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions; 
• Provide training on legal matters impacting the business; 
• Stay tuned to all legislative and regulatory changes which may impact the business; 
• Supervise the paralegal’s work related to corporate records and annual regulatory filings 
for all the legal entities of the group.

Qualifications
• Law degree from a well-recognized law school, member of the Québec Bar; 
• 5 to 7 years of experience in corporate law, acquired in a reputable law firm and/or an 
in-house department; 
• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, take initiative and autonomy; 
• Strong organizational and planning skills and sense of priorities; 
• Methodical, strong analysis and synthesis skills; 
• Attention to detail and rigor; 
• An entrepreneurial spirit with a strong bias towards “just getting it done” and a strong business sense; 
• Ability to navigate in a very entrepreneurial culture, where responsibilities and reporting 
lines are not always clearly defined; 
• Excellent adaptation skills, humility and emotional intelligence; 
• Ability to communicate in French and English. Most of the written work is done in English 
and this is an international company, so the ability to write well in English is necessary.

Assets:
• Experience in Litigation and Employment law;
• M&A and banking financing.
