Take your next step and join Osler Works located in our Ottawa office, as a lead in HR legislation compliance, providing transactional and litigation support, research and client advice. This position will also leverage cutting edge technology for diligence and streamlined processes to transform the way we deliver legal services.
In this unique non-partnership track role, you will be responsible for providing associate level support in English and, preferably also French, to the lawyers in the national Employment and Labour Department. This position will primarily support “internal clients”, being other members of the firm, and is largely not client facing, however, there will be ample opportunities to work for cutting-edge tech start-ups and venture-scalable businesses on client matters in our Emerging and High Growth Companies (EHG) practice area. There is no business development expectation beyond providing exceptional service to your internal clients.
Working under the administrative direction and guidance of the Head of Osler Works, the successful candidate will:
- be called to the Ontario Bar (Barreau du Québec an asset)
- have a minimum of 2+ years’ of employment law experience, in private or public sector, preferably in both Ontario and Québec
- be proficient using technology and adaptable to change
- have proven experience working with teams of various sizes
- be comfortable working with lawyers in different cities (primarily Toronto and Calgary)
- bilingual (French and English) is preferred
