Our Real Estate Group is seeking an energetic, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial Associate to join the team in our Waterloo/Kitchener office.

The Real Estate Group offers a full complement of services and the expertise in areas of land acquisition and disposition, ownership and transaction structuring, financing, land use planning and development, joint ventures and mixed use developments, with extensive experience in commercial lease negotiations.  We provide strategic, creative and sound advice in all areas of commercial real estate from day-to-day operational issues, acting as an extension of and complement to in-house counsel, to transactional complications. Our Group works hand in hand with colleagues in related fields of expertise such as corporate, construction, environmental, tax, zoning and municipal law to ensure a collaborative and comprehensive approach on all projects.

Miller Thomson represents a wide array of vendors, purchasers, landlords, tenants, developers, real estate advisors, hotel owners and operators, REITs, private and institutional lenders, as well as domestic and foreign investors who are attracted to the highly competitive Canadian real estate market.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent academic credentials
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • A license to practice in Ontario
  • Proven client management skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills
  • An entrepreneurial attitude
