Are you looking for a new challenge in a position where you can make a real difference? In this role, you’ll be investigating fraud, insider trading, and other potential breaches of the securities legislation. You’ll track down money, assets, and people. You will also use your analytical skills to piece together complex evidence, to be used in Commission hearings. In addition, you’ll be appointed as a Special Provincial Constable and work with law enforcement agencies and other regulators, including at an international level.
The successful candidate has:
A degree in Finance, Accounting or Law and at least two years of experience conducting investigations or working in the securities industry, or a combination of these qualifications to effectively perform the tasks required
Knowledge of securities legislation, administrative enforcement processes and securities market operations
The ability to apply investigative techniques to conduct key interviews and analyze financial documents
Effective communication skills in both collegial and adversarial situations
- Sound judgement and excellent interpersonal skills
A highly analytical personality with natural skepticism
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Other assets include:
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course
Experience handling evidence
Familiarity with investigative interviews.
