Under the supervision of the Supervising Counsel, this position provides administrative assistance to the Legal Counsel in the Victoria and Vancouver offices.
The Attorney General is the legal advisor to the government of British Columbia and is charged with ensuring that the administration of public affairs is carried out in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Attorney General is structured to carry out this mandate under the direction of the Attorney General, and Legal Services Branch (LSB) supports the Ministry in fulfilling this mandate by serving as legal advisor to government in civil law matters. LSB provides legal advice to government and ensures that legal risks associated with government operations are reduced. LSB’s clients include all ministries of the government, Cabinet and certain public agencies.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Paralegal Level 1 - 2:
No formal education required. One year of experience working in a legal office environment or four years of experience in a non-legal office environment.
Preference may be given to candidates with a Paralegal certificate or diploma or currently enrolled.
Preference may be given to candidates with previous experience in civil litigation.
Paralegal Level 3 - 4:
- Must have completed a minimum of two courses in a Paralegal Certificate or Diploma program.
- Two years of experience working in a legal office environment.
- Preference may be given to candidates with previous experience in civil litigation.
