What kind of challenges will you be looking at? 

  • Manage, coach and develop the legal team to ensure continuity;
  • Oversee major transactional and contentious matters as well as corporate activity;
  • Maintain guidance with respect to communications with all relevant regulators and provide related legal advice to the company;
  • Stay informed of the US, European and Canadian legal landscape affecting the company and its structure;
  • Communicate and provide advice to executives and other stakeholders;
  • Offer counsel and explanations of legal language to stakeholders on a variety of legal affairs;
  • Provide assistance to the CFO with global joint ventures, strategic partnership deals as well as mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide legal guidance and advice on best practices, compliance and contract management;
  • Ensure the company complies with laws and guidelines, while monitoring changing laws;
  • Ensure board and shareholder meetings are appropriately conducted and recorded;
  • Liaise with external counsel and other professional third parties as required;
  • Manage compliance for our websites such as privacy policy, T&Cs, copyright indications;
  • Draft and maintain agreements between all the legal entities of the group;
  • Draft, review, modify and advise on partner contracts;

  • University degree in Law;
  • 8+ years of legal experience within an in-house legal department;
  • 5+ years business experience in e-commerce, technology or service companies;
  • 3+ years of management responsibilities;
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Google suites;
  • Very comfortable in a technology environment;
  • Extremely resourceful with respect to online research;
  • Perfectly bilingual (French/English, written and spoken), with strong grasp of writing in English
  • Solid work experience with respect to intellectual property law;
  • Full working knowledge of copyright, trademark and contract law.
