Golder is currently looking forLegal Counsel with relevant experience gained from a top law firm or in-house environment and a strong background in the engineering and construction industries.

Effective communication skills, self-motivation and the ability to work independently within an entrepreneurial team environment are essential attributes required for this role. As a key member of the legal team based in Montreal, Mississauga, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton orOttawa, you have 4 to 6 years of experience in providing a broad range of legal services to the engineering and construction industry. Fluency in French, both written and spoken, are strong assets. This position will report to the General Counsel, located in Mississauga, Ontario.

An overview of yourrole will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and the negotiation of engineeringand construction contracts, procurement contracts, commercial agreements andassociated documents, primarily in the fields of:

  • Infrastructure

  • Manufacturing

  • Power

  • Oil& gas

  • Mining;and

  • Geotechnicaland Environmental services

  • Providinglegal support, as needed, in the following areas:

  • Employmentlaw

  • Health& safety

  • Corporategovernance, acquisitions and tax

  • Resolutionof disputes and claims

  • Workingclosely with all business units and providing a strategic blend of business andlegal advice

You will have abackground with:

  • 4to 6 years of related industry experience

  • Lawdegree from a recognized institution and membership in good standing with aprovincial bar

  • In-houseexperience working with an international organization

  • Anenthusiastic team player who will work well with others in a fast-pacedenvironment

  • Abilityto provide sound business and legal advice to all levels of the company
