Our Ottawa office is currently looking for a 1 year Temporary Intellectual Property Coordinator to join our Patent Group. In this role you will be part of our administrative team providing operational support to our patent agents and lawyers

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and interpreting client instructions, and taking appropriate action as required
  • Liaising with clients and the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO)
  • Reviewing and forwarding documents
  • Drafting of correspondence
  • Interacting with agents, lawyers and other team members
  • Preparing Invoices
  • Other duties may be assigned or amended as required

 

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Post-secondary education
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in the area of intellectual property law.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and recommend solutions for complex issues
  • Excellent English written/spoken skills is essential, French skills would be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal directly with clients and all levels of staff
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized and proactive
  • Highly proficient in MS Office and ability to learn new software and technology quickly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment
