Our Business Law Group is seeking an energetic, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial Mid-Level Lawyer to join the Capital Markets & Securities team in our Vancouver office.

Miller Thomson’s Capital Markets and Securities group consists of over 40 lawyers in our offices across the country, including in Canada’s main capital market centres: Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Montreal. Our lawyers focus on providing high-quality legal and strategic advice to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from governments issuing bonds to private companies completing their first seed round. We represent clients in a range of industries, including technology, life sciences, mining, oil & gas, industrials, real estate, Cannabis/Hemp and Blockchain/Cryptocurrency. We focus on getting deals done in a timely, responsive and effective way and pride ourselves on meeting our clients’ needs.

Our clients have come to value our expertise in assisting them when they need to raise capital. We regularly provide advice to public and private issuers raising money in a vast array of transactions, including private placements, short form prospectus offerings, Canada-U.S. cross-border and international offerings, rights offerings, convertible debt and initial public offerings. We also act for brokerage firms, financial institutions, institutional investors, exempt market dealers, private equity firms and angel investors as they undertake due diligence and raise capital for companies in private and public offerings.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of experience with significant transactional and securities experience
  • A license to practice law in British Columbia
  • Proven client management skills
  • Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills
  • An entrepreneurial attitude
  • Ability to manage and mentor younger associates
