Overview of the opportunity:

We are currently searching for a Legal Assistant to join the Tax Practice.

What you will do:

  • Process, edit, and proof-read a range of legal documents in MS Word, including complicated legal agreements, litigation-related documents, legal memoranda, presentations and correspondence
  • Generate comparison versions of  legal documents using Track Changes and Workshare Compare, and maintain version control
  • Create and revise MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Power Point presentations
  • Assist legal counsel to organize and maintain commercial and litigation matter files in both electronic and hard copy format
  • Attending to electronic filing of corporate-related legal documents
  • Organization of meetings of legal counsel, including booking space, meeting invitations in MS Outlook, etc.
  • Prepare, submit and track legal counsel’s time and expense reports
  • Attend to travel arrangements for legal counsel
  • Administer the processing of invoices directed to legal counsel

What you bring to the role:

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviours:
  • College diploma or an equivalent combination of education/experience in legal administrative assistant skill set.
  • Minimum 5 years administration experience.
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for proofreading, suggesting alternatives and making modifications.
  • Proven ability to deal with sensitive materials with a high degree of tact and discretion
  • Advanced skills with MS Office Products. In particular, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
  • Flexible and adaptableStrong interpersonal and client service skills
