Our Transaction Services and Corporate Legal division provides professional support to all parts of the organization through the services it provides, including legal and transaction finance. Lawyers within the team specialize in services that support infrastructure and commercial projects, real estate and leasing, lending, privacy, government affairs, litigation, construction, and contract management.
As part of the Corporate Legal Team within the division, you will provide high-quality legal advice, research, opinions and service to internal clients on lending transactions, corporate/commercial matters, including procurement and freedom of information. You will also develop corporate governance expertise in supporting the Corporate Secretary support the Board and its Committees.
What You Will Do
- Provide legal advice to Infrastructure Ontario executives and business units to support decision making
- Ensure corporate compliance with current legislation and Infrastructure Ontario policies and procedures, and contribute to strategy development.
- Provide legal support to internal stakeholders.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an individual with a minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing law in the area of secured transactions, which includes knowledge of and experience in dealing with real property security, or a minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing law in the area of public procurement. Knowledge of municipal law, freedom of information, or corporate governance best practices would be considered an asset. The ideal candidate will also have University degree in Law (LLB or JD) and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
